Rand Water will be conducting planned maintenance on our water pipelines, which will result in the temporary interruption of water supply to certain areas. This maintenance will commence on Tuesday, 11 July at 7pm and is expected to be completed by Friday, 14 July at 5am.

During this period, we kindly request your cooperation in conserving water and taking the necessary precautions to ensure minimal inconvenience. We would like to bring your attention to the following points:

  1. Emptying Geysers: It is vital that you switch off and empty your geysers prior to the maintenance work. Leaving them on could potentially result in the burnout of the element. Please ensure that your geysers remain switched off until water supply has been fully restored and geysers are filled up.
  2. Water Restoration: As the maintenance work progresses, it is important to note that it may take up to 10 days for the water supply to be fully restored. We kindly request that until such time that the water is fully restored, please do not switch on your geyser as this will in turn burn out the element.
  3. Storage of Water: We recommend that you store an adequate amount of water for your immediate needs. It is advisable to have at least three days’ supply available, taking into consideration the duration anticipated for the restoration of the water supply.
  4. Water Tankers: To assist you during the maintenance period, Rand Water will be deploying water tankers to designated areas within your locality. These tankers will be supplying water for essential purposes such as drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Detailed information regarding the location and schedule of the water tankers have been communicated through Rand Water’s social media channels and website.
